About

A student-led organization, this venture was ideated in October, 2019 with the single aim of being the change that we wanted to see. We’re inspiring a generation of girls to be a force for gender equality and social change.

In atmospheres of palpable uncertainties, it becomes imperative that we voice our opinions and stand our ground. GirlUp Rise is one such platform that facilitates expression of identities and reclamation of physical and metaphorical spaces. It aims at pushing forth for gender equality by enabling girls with adequate resources to initiate movements of change.

Our Mission

At GirlUp Rise, we aspire to spread awareness about mediums of empowerment so as to create a nexus of women leaders in civil society. One of our major focuses is on female legal literacy and menstrual hygiene. We aspire to provide underprivileged women with adequate legal and social tools for self-dependence. We actively promote the underlying idea of women uplifting each other.

Our Vision

GirlUp Rise identifies the need for empowerment of women in the 21st century. When our society is encompassed with forces that facilitate discrimination against gender, we at Girlup aim to impart awareness about equality. We believe in grassroot mobilization and implementation of efforts in such a manner that consciousness regarding gender equality includes people from all sections of the society.
