Refugee Mask Making Project
“Every life matters” we have heard this saying many times but have we ever wondered what its deepest layers mean? GirlUp Rise in collaboration with Fair Trade Forum India and with the support of UNHCR has championed the cause of uplifting the lives of Rohingya and Afghan refugee women who have severely faced the terrible effects of Covid-19. We aim to help these group of hardworking women based in Delhi, Jaipur and Mewat by helping them sell and produce handmade masks. To ensure a happier standard of life for them because Every life does matters.
Legal Rights Modules
In line with our mission of ensuring better legal literacy among women, we, at Girl Up Rise, have collaborated with the Legal Aid Clinic at Jindal Global Law School to bring forth legal perspectives into the ideas we aim to foster and inculcate in the society. Sexual harassment, cyber crimes, the idea of consent, family laws and rights at work place are some of the issues of concern that have been undertaken by our team. Hence, the data contained in our booklets is legally verified and available to all for reference and use.
Pad Donation Drive-Delhi
The red of love, courage, health and life is pious but the red of menstruation is labelled as a taboo. Why? Because it is a source of life for every human being? Or because humans have still not risen beyond their self made boundaries? The pad donation drive by GirlupRise is an initiative to break these boundations and make every women aware of their right and provide them a platform to raise their voice. We intend to eradicate period poverty from our country and the first phase of this initiative is ongoing in Delhi with the help of NGOs and everyone who is stepping forward to contribute to this movement.
