Breaking Gender Stereotypes
Updated: Apr 26, 2021

Labels are for clothing, not people. Stop labelling a guy as ‘sissy’ if he tried to show emotion. Stop assuming that guys are okay. Stop calling a girl ‘slut’ if she hangs out with guys. I do support feminism. However, I want to clear the biggest misconception. Feminism is not only for women, it’s for all.
Labels are for clothing, not people
Everyone is talking about woman being suppressed, nevertheless, nobody considered the fact that guys are set to perform certain tasks as well. If they do not succeed in doing those things, they are not considered man enough. Why? Society wants a man to work hard all day long, earn money for the family and provide everything without expressing himself. If he does, he’s regarded as ruthless and crude. Apparently he is not doing his duty ‘well’. If a man stays home and looks after it and his wife works all day long, it is not accepted. If a man cries in public, he is weak. Let me tell you, he isn’t, showing your emotions symbolizes that you’re strong enough to let the world see the real you. A man is always supposed to be the one who woes a woman, who makes the first move, who buys his girl flowers. He must never expect anything in return. Well feminist talk about equal rights, what about this? Is this fair? The real feminists know that this is wrong. Men deserve to be pampered as well. They deserve appreciation for their effort. If a woman proposes a man, if she makes the first move, she is deemed as ‘too bold’. If a woman rides bikes, drives a car, she is androgynous. Maybe, but it’s her choice. It’s all about your choice. It’s your choice what you want to do, or who you want to be. Never be afraid of what society says. After all, they are never going to stop judging you. You should always have courage to be yourself. Guys can cry, that doesn’t make them less manly. Some girls can ride bikes better than boys, it’s the skill. That doesn’t make her a man. A girl can play sports which are considered to be rough or manly games. A guy can be interested in fashion. A guy may have a better fashion style than a woman, that doesn’t make him a sissy.
It’s time to break the gender stereotypes. It’s time to come out of your shell. It’s time to stop labelling people. A guy can do the laundry. A woman can be the only earning person in the family. An old lady can wear modern clothes,a youngster can wear traditional clothes. A guy can choose homemaking. This is natural. It’s not weird. It’s their choice. You don’t have any right to question their choices. Stereotypes are lies fed to people. It’s time to know the truth.
